Mykola Tomenko: Opening of the Central Alley in Kachanivka is the Example of how one can help Ukraine instead of profiting by it
Today Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stayed with a working visit in Chernihiv region, where he participated in the holiday "Independence Day in Kachanivka".
The renovated central alley of the State historico-cultural reserve "Kachanivka" was opened on the occasion of the Independence Day with the assistance of M.Tomenko Fund "Spravedlyva Kraina".
The Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated that the alley was renovated with the assistance of Valeriy Dubil and Ivan Kurovsky, People´s Deputies of Ukraine. "Today´s event is the example of how one can help Ukraine instead of profiting by it. It serves as an example of how a good deed can be done at one´s own expense, not for the budget funds", - stated the Vice-Chairman.
M.Tomenko stressed that "Kachanivka" should become "not just a fashionable place for festivals or holidays, but also a territory for creative meetings".
For reference: three years ago, M.Tomenko initiated renovations in the reserve and on 6 June took part in the ceremony of laying first tiles in the central alley of the reserve and promised that the alley would be opened on 24 August 2009 (the Independence Day).
